Saw Palmetto Raw Honey!
We have the Palmetto honey for those men concerned about prostate maintenance and those women concerned about balancing hormones. The honeybees pollinate the palmetto flower and use the nectar to make honey. This flower becomes the berry that is so medicinal. The theory is that the honey will not only do its normal benefits, but also the prostate and hormones. Here is a short article on Saw Palmetto.
History of Saw palmetto Applications
Saw Palmetto’s benefits can be traced back to the early 1700’s when aborigines of the Florida peninsula depended largely upon the berries. Saw Palmetto berries were also used by American Indians to treat “atrophy of the testes, impotence, inflammation of the prostate, low libido in men, and as a general tonic to nourish the body.” Early American settlers also used the saw palmetto berry to treat problems associated with the genitals, urinary tract and reproductive system. Ancient Mayans used the berries to treat disorders of the genitourinary tract.
Other historical uses of the plant include the treatment of infertility in women, growth stimulation for underdeveloped breast, an increase in low breast milk production in nursing mothers, and painful periods.” It has also been used as an anti-inflammatory agent, appetite stimulant, and as a tonic and expectorant for mucous membranes, particularly the bronchial passages.
Current Uses of Saw Palmetto
Saw Palmetto has been marketed globally in the 1990’s as an aphrodisiac for both men and women. Currently it is used mainly as a treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition common in men over fifty. BPH results in an enlarged prostate which partially blocks the urethra, the tube which carries urine to the bladder. The effects of this condition include increased frequency of urination, decreased ability to empty the bladder completely, and difficulty in starting and stopping. Saw Palmetto has been shown to be effective in relieving these problems.
Dr. Daniel Mowrey, a leading expert in herbal therapy, says, “Saw Palmetto extract, concentrated and purified in the best tradition of guaranteed potency herbs, dramatically reduces the size of the enlarged prostate and restores function.”
Saw Palmetto is one of the few herbal remedies considered to be anabolic, which means it strengthens and builds body tissues. Among its many uses are:
· Treating an enlarged and weakened prostate gland in men
· Restoring hair loss
· Nourishing the urinary tract
· Balancing the hormones in both sexes
· Regulating sexual development and normalizing activity of those glands and organs
· Building reproductive strength and fertility
Saw Palmetto extracts function in a multitude of ways and a number of studies have been done with promising results. A 1996 review of saw palmetto’s therapeutic efficacy in BPH explains that saw palmetto:
· Inhibits the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT)
· Blocks the effect of estrogen on prostate tissue
· Inhibits the binding of DHT to androgen receptors in prostate cells
· Inhibits growth factors responsible for stimulation of prostate tissue

“Beyond the 120 years”
This is a new beginning segment of our Note for those who are looking for great health beyond this life. This segment will be at the bottom of the newsletter for those interested in going the extra mile. You may or may not agree with me. I am not a dictator. We are still free in this country to believe what we wish. With that said, in my mind, why try to live a healthy life, with no disease if we are only going to go to the grave and that’s it.
I am a planner of the future. I have always wanted to know just what lies ahead. As a young adult, when I planned a weekend, I didn’t just plan Saturday morning. I planned the whole weekend. I wanted to get and look forward to the most I could get out of that time period.
In a way, I am selfish. I want to know I am covered not just for my time on earth, but for all time or for all eternity. I want all I can get in the future. I want to see others receive it all too.
I always had a hard time believing popular thinking like when we die we turn into ions and float in space forever. Forever is a very long time. 56 years has been long enough, let alone trillions and ca-zillions of years. I’m not into worshiping myself. Just one look in the mirror tells me I don’t have the power to create salvation for myself. With all do respect, some of these guys (how come there’s no women) in the grave, like Buddha and Harry Chrisna and such, I’m sorry, but I am just not going to bet my eternal future on dead people.
The Big bang theory is nice, but just where did the material for the big bang come from, another bang? And after an explosion, all the discharge coming out from the explosion moves either clockwise or counter clockwise, I’m not sure. So how come we have planets with moons revolving around them in opposite directions? That is a hard one for me to believe in. If you have patience to listen, this has been my experience:
At 29 years old (I was old then. My diet and lifestyle was poor), after trying for many years to figure everything in the universe out, I turned to God. I surrendered my life to Jesus, not knowing if I really fully believed in Him or not. After all, my Grandmother told me to believe half of what I see with my eyes and nothing of what I hear with my ears.
This decision to want to be a Christian and follow Christ was no small matter. I needed to know that I know Jesus really was, and is, God in the flesh. My entire eternal future now depended on Him. Something inside me was telling me there was a God, but I doubted.
After I asked Jesus to forgive me for the boatload of sins I had committed in my life, and save my soul, I asked him man to God, to without a doubt, prove Himself to me. I didn’t know if He was real or just made up.
Back in 1982, over the next days, weeks, months, and years, Jesus proved Himself that He indeed is God soooooo much that I realized it would take more faith to believe in coincidence than to believe in God.
Here is just the tip of the iceberg. I found Christ through the old and new testaments in the Bible in prophecy. Not just one, but many. And up to this point, 2009, 100% have come true. Did you know that almost 3000 years ago it was written that in the year 1948, a country would be born called Israel?
I found Christ in answered prayers. Some took minutes, some a few years. He actually answers them.
I have seen miracles. I have had dreams that were not normal. I have felt Him and felt His voice inside me.
When I was about 6 years old, we would pray the rosary in Catholic school every day. I carried it in my pocket. Being a boy, I did not take care of my rosary and it totally knotted up. Every day I was frustrated when we prayed because it was one big knot.
At that time my great grandfather died and we were going to pray the rosary at his wake (viewing). I looked up to God and asked Him to take the knots out of my rosary since this was such an important moment. Before my eyes, the knots completely fell out!
When I was 16 years old driving my 1965 Corvair down Humville road, a feeling came over me like I had never felt prior. It talked to me and told me everything was going to be OK. I asked this incredible peace not to leave. It stayed less than a minute. I did not understand. When I was about 21, it came again while I was in Catholic Church. Again, it was the same, telling me everything was going to be OK, and I asked it not to leave. It left in less than a minute. That was it for that feeling that talked to me.
In April 1982, I was 29. After I asked Jesus to save my soul in April, I asked Him something else. I shared with Him that I did not know how to be a Christian. I was used to being an amateur drug dealer. I lived a low class life. But I remembered someone bringing me to a church in my drug days, and they were talking about being filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. A person would be filled with the presence of God in such a way that one would have more strength to overcome sin, and pray for the sick, and see them recover, and much more.
I told Jesus that I wasn’t sure if I believed in this stuff or not, but if this is true and real, please give it to me. I sure needed direction and strength.
Now you can believe this or not. I only know what I experienced on the morning of August 26th, 1982. I was sitting on my couch in my little cottage, which I paid $13,000 dollars for and had 3 leaks in the living room through the roof. I was talking to God, admitting to Him that I just don’t have the strength to give up the drugs. I was about to light up a joint when something began to happen to me. It started on the top of my head like pins and needles and went down through my body. A feeling of great peace overwhelmed me and seemed to be talking to me, telling me to throw away all my drugs. I felt the feeling say that the drug addiction is over. I am free.
In the midst of this experience, I realized everything was going to be OK. I also realized this was the great peace I had experienced in my younger days. That feeling of peace that talked to my spirit at age 16 and 21 was obviously God!
That great peace and joy I experienced then is with me now and will not leave as long as I am in prayer or worship or even talking to someone about the Lord. This was another proof I was given.
My life totally changed. Instead of just caring about myself, I now seemed to care about other people. I noticed when I was tempted to do wrong, I did not always do it, like before. I was convinced back then in 1982, and even more now, that Jesus, The Son of God, is the only way to God.
Thanks for listening.
Hope to see you at the markets,
Mark
